Energy manufacture businessman Daniel Křetínský is the richest man in the Czech Republic, with a full capital of 390 billion kroner (about EUR 15.6 billion) – stated the economical weekly Euro on Sunday, who makes lists of the richest people in the republic all year.
"The richest Czech Republic in this year's ranking [...] is Daniel Křetínský, whose property has grown from 217 billion kroner (about 8.6 billion EUR) to 390 billion kroner (about 15.6 billion EUR) in the last year. Thus, he displaced from the top rankings of Renate Kellner and her family, whose assets increased year to year by 65 billion kroner (about 2.6 billion EUR) to 350 billion kroner (about 14 billion EUR). More than another billionaires, the leader of the opposition political movement of the ANO ("The Action of Dissatisfied Citizens") and erstwhile Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, whose assets decreased by 50 billion kronor (approximately EUR 2 billion) to 85 billion kronor (approximately EUR 3.4 billion), with this indicator dropped from 5th to seventh on the list of richest compatriots", the Communication notes.
Křetínský's assets focus mainly on EP Corporate Group, in which it holds about 90% of its shares. This group includes Energy and Industrial Holding (EPH), which brings together more than 70 companies across Europe under its umbrella. The second is PPF Investment Group, which Kellnerova inherited from her husband, Peter Kellner, after his death in a chopper accident in Alaska in 2021.
