– I'm gonna run for this election, with God and human help. This is simply a good task and we will be able to increase our chances (...) of representing Polish Catholics in the next parliament," said Grzegorz Braun in an interview with David Mysior. That's why he cut the speculation about his start in the presidential election.

Earlier, participation in the presidential race was announced by another Confederate politician Sławomir Mentzen. However, he did not receive the support of either Grzegorz Braun himself or his party. Among Confederate sympathizers, concern was caused by the fact that Mentzen's candidacy for president was not selected as part of the organization primary procedure, as occurred before the erstwhile elections.

Braun's decision met with a tense resection of the Mentzen faction. associate Stanisław Foltyn describes it as leaving the Confederacy. "The consequence of this multimonth process is today's decision to leave the Confederacy and start a solo career. Sad, sad, but most likely the only possible solution in this situation," he wrote on his authoritative profile.

Apart from Mentzen and Braun, the election was announced by the president of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski (KO), supported by the Law and Justice Office president Karol Nawrocki, rotational talker of the Sejm Simon Hołownia, candidate of the fresh Left Magdalena Biejat (formerly Together), supported by the organization Together Adrian Zandberg and MP Marek Jakubiak.

This is not the first time Braun has decided to fight for a seat at the Presidential Palace. In 2015, he competed in the presidential election as an independent candidate. At the time, his main demands were the termination of global agreements which he considered to be detrimental to Poland, including the Treaty of Lisbon. He besides talked about rebuilding a Christian-based state and reducing the impact of EU and globalist structures on Polish policy.

In the 2015 presidential election, Grzegorz Braun won 124 132 votes, which translated into 0.83% of support. Today, however, Braun is incomparably more recognizable.
