Krzysztof Wójcikowski from the board of ELEKTROTIM S.A. told Defence24 that the Aquila platform integrates data from thousands of sensors and already operates on over 400 km of the Polish border. At stake is the protection of critical infrastructure and Shields East: Poland must see the threat faster, without depending on abroad systems.
Data must turn into a decision
ELEKTROTIM presents Aquila as a Polish platform of the PSIM class, a strategy combining distributed safety devices into a single image of the operating situation. In a conversation with Defence24 Krzysztof Wójcikowski, a associate of the company's board, pointed out that the problem is no longer the same number of cameras, radars, sensors and alarms. The problem is whether the service can rapidly separate the real threat from the noise.
This describes today's safety situation well. Poland can buy another devices, but without a common command strategy the operator sees reality cuts. Border, airport, power plant, logistics base or industrial plant do not request a 1000 separate screens. They request 1 credible image. DN has already written that cyber attacks on critical infrastructure are increasing, and physical protection of objects and digital immunity are increasingly the same battlefield.
Over 400 km of border and low false alarms
Wójcikowski told Defence24 that the experience of implementations for the Podlaskie and Nadbużan Border defender Branch confirmed the importance of data integration. According to Aquila, it already operates on over 400 km of the border lane, automatically prioritizing alarms and indicating the location of the event. These are the manufacturer's declarations, but they concern an area where Poland has no right to afford administrative blindness.
The east border is not just a line on the map. It is simply a place of migration force controlled by the Belarusian regime, the hazard of diversion, designation by the opponent and investigating the state's response. If the operator receives hundreds of signals a day, the strategy must advise which event requires an immediate response, which is simply a false alarm. velocity of decision means the safety of an officer and a citizen.
Shields East needs electronics
Government Programme of the Shield East is to be implemented between 2024-2028 and according to Chancellery of the Prime Minister its value is about PLN 10 billion. The papers and communications mention the firewalls, the mobility of troops, the hiding places, warehouses and the securing of the population. It's necessary. Concrete, steel and earth halt the opponent's movement. Electronics gives time.
Therefore, talking about Aquila is more crucial than the one-manufacturer function directory. Poland's Shield East cannot be just a belt of obstacles. It must be a strategy of recognition, reaction and coordination. In fresh weeks we have described that The army must see beyond the enemyBecause the drone war changes the way all formation works. It's the same with critical infrastructure. Whoever first detects movement, drone, effort to disrupt or breach the perimeter buys himself the most precious thing: time to react.
Polish code is an component of sovereignty
On the Aquili website ELEKTROTIM describes the strategy as a proprietary, Polish consolidation solution, e.g. perimetric protection, anti-drone strategy and critical infrastructure protection. The company emphasizes 1 interface, real-time event handling, reaction automation, scalability, redundancy and the ability to work in user infrastructure. However, from the point of view of the State, the most crucial component is: environmental control and strategy development.
Technological sovereignty is not a slogan from a conference. If strategical objects of the state are based on a strategy whose code, service, improvement and data are outside Polish control, a dependency arises. Sometimes expensive, sometimes dangerous. Western suppliers may have large products, but Poland should make its own core where border, energy, military and administration are concerned. This is where national economical interest meets security.
Common image for services but with access control
ELECTROTIM indicates that Aquila allows you to make distributed architecture supervised from the operational centre and manage the powers of different services. This is crucial due to the fact that a common image of the situation cannot mean the chaos of access to data. Border Guard, military, police, facility operators and administration must cooperate, but in accordance with procedures and professional secrecy.
This is the hardest test for you. Technology will not replace doctrine, training and command responsibility. The best strategy will not aid if the services do not have clear procedures and the alarm ends with the translation of work between the institutions. At the same time, the procedure without tools is free and prone to error. Poland needs both things at once: equipment and order.
Security as a national industry
MSPO 2026 is to be an chance for ELEKTROTIM to present Aquila as a solution for services, airports, logistics bases, energy, manufacture and administration. This is the right direction, due to the fact that the Polish defence and safety manufacture cannot limit itself to subcontracting for larger players. It must supply products that the state can develop, service and integrate according to its own requirements.
Of course, the manufacturer's declarations must be verified in practice: tests, orders, cybersecurity audits and user evaluation. But the direction is clear. Poland will not be safe if it is only a buyer of another people's technologies. He needs his own platforms, his own engineers, and his own data. In a planet of hybrid pressure, sovereignty starts with whether the State sees a threat on time and can answer without asking the external supplier for permission.
