Despite many proposals to abandon the electrification of the gas plant in Melkøya Island, it is improbable that the majority in the Storting will be able to be obtained to support the abandonment of the project. On 8 April, the Energy and Environment Commission decided not to retreat the concession of Equinor power plant in Hammerfest. The parliamentarians will vote on May 6.
