LONDON- In an exciting development in its European network, easyJet has announced the addition of 30 new routes across Europe. The airline continues its aggressive growth for the upcoming winter and early 2026 seasons.

The expansion strengthens connectivity from key airports will offer travelers more direct options to both leisure and business destinations.

The latest update filed by the airline in mid-June 2025, easyJet seems confident in sustained passenger demand across Europe.

The airline is known for tapping into underserved or unserved routes that show signs of strong demand. The rollout is also timed to capture key seasonal travelers across Europe.

New Flights from Barcelona to the UK Airports

Barcelona-El Prat Airport is among the biggest beneficiaries of this announcement. Barcelona will gain three new routes to the United Kingdom—Edinburgh, Leeds/Bradford, and Southampton. These new additions will strengthen the Spain–UK travel corridor.

For travelers, the new links open up additional options for visiting Catalonia, especially outside peak summer months. Passengers from Barcelona will benefit from easier access to regional UK cities, ideal for visiting friends and relatives or business trips.

EasyJet will introduce two new Vienna connections. The flights will begin from Basel and Bordeaux. These additions create fresh opportunities for cultural exchanges and business trips between Central and Western Europe.

For Bordeaux, this route is especially significant, as it increases the airport’s Central European connectivity.

Belfast to Rovaniemi

easyJet will launch flights from Belfast International to Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland. This seasonal route will offer travelers a direct link to one of Europe’s most magical winter destinations.

From Birmingham, easyJet is introducing a new connection to Grenoble. Grenoble is a city situated at the foot of the French Alps. Scheduled for winter, this route will provide direct access to the region’s many resorts.

The largest expansion is happening at Bristol Airport. easyJet will launch four new routes:

  • Munich – Bavaria’s capital.
  • Vienna – Austria.
  • Verona –Northern Italy.
  • Zurich – Switzerland.

This move makes Bristol as a growing hub for easyJet in the UK’s southwest. These new flights will bring in much-needed European connectivity for a region often overshadowed by London airports.

Bottom Line

easyJet is doubling down on connectivity and diversification. The expansion also shows a trend among low-cost carriers for some time now. Airlines are diversifying away from the most crowded markets and into medium-sized cities with growing catchment areas.

easyJet’s move aligns with its broader strategy to diversify revenue streams. It was outlined in the airline’s 2024 results when the airline reported a 34% profit increase to £610 million.

The airline’s holiday package offerings, expanded into France, Switzerland, and Germany in recent years, complement this route expansion, potentially driving further growth in leisure travel.

However, the airline’s conservative scheduling may lag behind competitors like Ryanair and Jet2. Airlines like Ryanair and Jet2 are adopting more frequent flights to capture market share. The low-frequency routes likely show a strategic divergence, with easyJet balancing growth with operational caution.
