He later criticised the ineffectiveness of the prosecution's actions towards erstwhile Deputy Minister of Justice Marcin Romanowski, writing: "Compromise is understated".
In principle, I agree with Bublewicz's assessment of the situation and have a akin view regarding PSL and the mistakes of the government coalition, but Bublewicz is governed by the principles of journalistic ethics in TVP, which talk clearly (Article XVI) that "The writer should treat social media as a form of public statement, bearing in head that he besides represents Polish tv SA there, and that private statements by journalists commonly associated with TVP SA can be seen as its position and have a crucial influence on opinions about TVP SA". Therefore, the writer should not print online "no information and opinions he could not submit on the air". The Ethics Committee which Bublewicz faced besides referred to Article XIII as saying that "A writer cannot do anything that could endanger the interests, good name, reliability, independency and impartiality of public tv and its professional mission". Bublewicz before the TVP Ethics Committee acknowledged his mistake, and after 2 weeks of suspension he returned to work.
The case shows that on the net TVP writer may have his own opinion, but not 1 that will not like leadership. The principles of journalistic ethics in TVP specify that "their maintenance is not a regulation on freedom of speech or preventive censorship". Ultimately, members of the Ethics Committee on TVP decide whether there has been a breach of ethical principles. In the erstwhile term, its members included Danuta Holecka and Krzysztof Ziemec, and present they are Sławomir Matczak and Michał Broniatowski (totally 8 members). In conclusion, if you're a TVP journalist, you're a TVP writer on the Internet, and you don't represent yourself, you're a TVP. In another words, you are not entitled to a conviction separate from the TVP programming line.
Is there a way out of this vicious ellipse of forced loyalty? Can only those journalists who agree with the line imposed by the management or those who humble themselves to it work on TVP? I remember a time erstwhile journalistic objectivity was understood as striving for fact and independency of views. In the mid-1990s, I was able to make subjective comments and opinions on TVP Łódź (no substance who ruled it) as a publicist, and they were surely not impartial. If we want public media to be pluralistic, journalists with different planet views should work there.
The scope of privacy has changed over the last 2 decades. Even the BBC, who allowed journalists to express their opinions on social media, provided they indicated that they were writing on their behalf, after 2020, prohibited them from expressing private views online that would betray their political preferences or support for political parties or social campaigns. They should besides avoid passing on posts and adding lairs. In Poland, these matters are frequently not regulated and journalists have a problem with it. Let us not forget, however, that there is no privacy in social media. Today, all message in the network becomes public and we have no influence on it – unless we refrain from publication.
