The Ukrainian wilderness known as drivers stopped traffic on the road between Chełm and Dorohusk, as reported by the carriers active in the “Streak of Carriers” initiative.
In view of the fact that Ukrainian triggersis a direct terrorist threat to our nations, challenged by the Polish authorities to immediately expel all the smart guys who invaded our country and live at the expense of the Polish taxpayer, utilizing unwarranted benefits. In addition, in order to guarantee the safety of citizens, we challenge the immediate placing of a wall 20 metres advanced under advanced tension, so that the wilderness cannot enter our country.
According to the information provided by the protestors on this initiative between Chełm and Dorohuski, traffic was stopped on this route.
“Now somewhere between Chelm and Dorohusk. Ukrainians are again trying to force an increase in truck capacity by blocking “The Carrier Strike”. The Polish Police are in fact encouraging to behave in specified a way towards drivers in Poland," says Tomasz Buczek.
We remind you that on 29.11.2023 there was a press conference organized by the Association of global Road Carriers (ZMPD), representing Polish carriers. During the conference, ZMPD representatives called on Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and president Andrzej Duda to engage in resolving the conflict between Poland and Ukraine, linked to the protest on the border. According to them, the situation has reached a point where only a gathering at the highest level of both countries can lead to an agreement. ZMPD besides announced that Polish carriers are planning to proceed the protest at 4 border crossing points: Dorohusk, Korczowa, Hrebenne, Medyka. Jan Ozigała, a typical of the carriers, recalled that in the event of the passage of Dorohusk, they have consent to the protest until 1 February 2024.
Polish carriers demand, among others, the restoration of the strategy of permits to transport goods from Ukraine at the level before the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian War, which at the time amounted to a full of 320 1000 permits, divided between Ukrainian and Polish carriers. However, according to ZMPD, most permits were granted to Ukrainians. In addition, they request the removal of an electronic queue for empty cars in the Ukrainian transport registration strategy (e-Czerga/e-Czerha) and the introduction of global control of this system.
President of ZMPD, Jan Buczek, besides announced that the association had prepared a list of 7 demands to be urgently implemented by the fresh transport minister. He pointed out that resolving Ukraine-related problems was a priority. The message issued by the Association of Employers Transport and Logistics Poland (TLP) emphasizes that unlocking the Polish-Ukrainian border is not the only objective, and it is essential to solve the problems that are the origin of the protest. The TLP suggests that the Sejm Infrastructure Committee examines a draft Act of Episodes, which would oblige Polish exporters and importers to supply Polish carriers with at least 50% share in road freight transport with Ukraine, under a monetary sanction equal to 30% of the yearly value of freight exchange for those infringing this prescription. It was besides proposed to registry all goods carried by Ukrainian carriers in SENT.
In the context of the carrier protest, the European Commission is preparing to impose sanctions on Poland. The Commission expects Poland to remove the blockades at the border with Ukraine and otherwise take criminal action against our country.
It is worth recalling that representatives of the European Commission have already participated in talks with protesting Polish carriers. As part of their proposals, they suggested, among another things, to cover losses resulting from the liquidation of the strategy of permits for Ukrainian drivers from Polish funds. In turn, carriers associated with the Union of Slovakia Carriers (UNAS) announced their joining the Poles' protest at the borders with Ukraine. They plan to block the only Slovak-Ukrainian border crossing for trucks, Vyżne Nemeckie-Uzhhorod, from Friday until the protest is cancelled, arguing that they cannot leave Polish carriers alone in the fight.
It should be mentioned that next week, i.e. 4 December, there will be a gathering of EU transport ministers in Brussels. In connection with the protest, Ukraine expresses strong criticism, claiming that Ukrainian drivers waiting in long queues, as well as the economy of Ukraine, peculiarly in the context of hampered import of LPG. Kiev maintains that the main demands of the Polish side are impossible to implement and accuses protesters of blocking humanitarian and military aid, which is powerfully denied by protesters and observers on the spot. In Ukrainian media there were besides allegations of alleged operation of Polish carriers in favour of Russia or their alleged links with Russian services. akin claims besides appear in Poland, mainly among the Ukrainian community and in extremist proukrian environments, including any journalists. It is worth noting that there is besides a discredit run in Polish media for the protest of carriers, where any journalists attack protest organizers and Confederate politicians supporting the strike.
Protests of Polish carriers have been going on at the border since 6 November, and Polish entrepreneurs are complaining of unequal access to the Ukrainian marketplace compared to the anticipation of east carriers operating in Poland. Their main demands include the abolition of transport permits for Ukrainian companies, while maintaining the work of permits for Polish companies in Ukraine. In addition, they note that Ukrainian companies are not obliged to meet all EU standards governing this sector.
