Mr Grzegorz Braun of the Confederate organization announced that a 70-year-old border activist, Andrzej Łukawski, had been released from his detention today, in which he had stayed since Wednesday.
"Mr Andrzej Łukawski FREEDOM – accused of “a speech of hatred” by the Ukrainian Union in Poland and sentenced by the pro-Bander court to 7 months in prison, present left the walls of Warsaw detention – after the intervention of Confederate MPs" – wrote on Friday evening on the X portal MP Grzegorz Braun.
Andrzej Łukawski, a 70-year-old border activist and organizer of the March of Memory of the Victims of Ukrainian Genocide in Volyn and east Małopolska, was arrested on the basis of a request from the Ukrainian Union in Poland related to comments published online.
The event took place on Wednesday, the same day Łukawski was to attend a press conference in the Sejm, but was stopped by the police. The activist reported to the police station to choice up a shipment that turned out to be a announcement of detention in order to service 7 months of imprisonment. The Ukrainian Union in Poland brought charges against Łukawski in 2019, and the case afraid his Facebook comments.
Łukawski, editor-in-chief of the Kresowy Information Service, was accused of utilizing offensive phrases specified as “bandersyn”, “bander” or “steppe chaotic boar”. In October, the territory Court retained the decision of the first instance court. Łukawski was so sent to prison. In consequence to this situation, Confederate Members Grzegorz Braun and Andrzej Zapalowski asked president Andrzej Duda to pardon the border activist.

I would like to ask you to exercise your statutory powers and to grant Mr Andrzej Łukawski a seven-month conviction of imprisonment imposed by the final judgement of the Court of Appeal in Warsaw of 21 April 2021 for the act referred to in Article 119(1) and Article 257 k.k.
