Two conflicted sisters – Jasmina and Małgorzata – have been leaving Warsaw for Kharkov for years to bring their badly wounded father. After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, a man worked there as a volunteer, carrying medical supplies. My sisters' relation was never the easiest. The younger Margaret always felt inferior, more alienated and unwanted. She felt her father favored older Jasmine. But now, for the sake of their loved one, the girls must join forces and quit their old grudges. Will they succeed? Will there be area for love, knowing and forgiveness in this inhuman world?
"Two Sisters" directed by Łukasz Karwowski is the first feature movie shot in Ukraine after Russian aggression. The highly hard pictures were created in real locations: Buczy, Irpieniu, Borodziance and Kharkov. The film's crew carried it out in incredibly complicated and dangerous conditions, frequently being forced to change the photograph plans and adapt to military situations or military commands. Due to the subject “Two Sisters” the creators managed to invitation the most well-known and valued Ukrainian actress, Irma Witowska, as well as respective another leading Ukrainian actors. 2 title heroines played Polish actresses of the young generation – Karolina Rzepa and Diana Zamojska. The movie was included in the main competition of the 49th Gdynia movie Festival.
