Armand Duplantis won a pole jump competition in Lausanne on August 21 with a score of 6.21 m, and Emmanuel Wanyonyi on the same evening won the 800 m run at 1:42,19. The Diamond League has shown the athletics of the highest try: talent, work and intellectual immunity mean more than media noise.
Duplantis returns to altitude
Armand Duplantis did again what the planet of athletics expects of him: he won. In Lausanne, during the Athletissima mythuring within the Diamond League, the Swede scored 6.21 m and set a miting record. By results from Lausanne ahead of Emmanuel Karalis, who jumped 6.16 m, and Kurtis Marschall with a score of 5.91 m.
It wasn't a camera show. Karalis forced Duplantis into a real fight due to the fact that 6.16 m in a pole is already a very uncommon level. However, the Swede went through the most crucial heights without mistake to 6.21 m, and then attacked the planet record. The test for 6.32 m failed, but the competition itself had the importance of a major event. In the athletics of the master class sometimes you don't request a planet evidence to see dominance.
Wanyonii won the finish at 800 meters
The second strong point of the evening was the men's race of 800 m. Emmanuel Wanyonyi won in 1:42.19, before Djamal Sedjati of Algeria, who gained 1:42.31, and American Brandon Miller with a time of 1:42.55. Official updates of the Diamond League noted that the Kenyan first achieved a triumph in this competition in this year's cycle.
Wanyonyi is an Olympic champion and a player with tremendous potential, but the period does not work itself by name. There's no area for comfortable victories at 800 m. You gotta keep pace, last contact with your rivals and have the strength for the last straight. That's where the Kenyan decided the run. Short, hard, no calculations.
Lesson for Polish Sport
Such myths can be treated as exotic curiosity in Poland, but this is simply a mistake. Athletics is 1 of those disciplines that shows the pure sense of competition: work over the years, precision, opposition to pressure, honor of triumph and defeat. These are values closer to the average upbringing of young people than the culture of instant net fame.
Poland has its own pride and tradition in light athletics. Therefore, it is worth looking at Duplantis, Wananyi or another champions not like distant stars, but as a reminder of what athletics is in a healthy sense. Not a life escape, a school of character. A country that wants strong citizens should be able to appreciate disciplines that build perseverance, not just those that make the loudest show.
Before the period finale
Lausanne was part of the end of the Diamond League season. According to the series' announcements, players are fighting for points before the final in Brussels scheduled for September 4 and 5. For the best, it is no longer a phase of recognition, but selection before the decisive start.
But for the fan, something simpler is most important. In 1 evening he saw a quilter who regularly shifts the limits of human capabilities, and a runner who at the last meters took distant his rivals' delusions. athletics makes sense erstwhile it teaches hierarchy: the consequence must be done at the stadium, not in the description under the recording.
