President Andrzej Duda thanked the community of Radio Maryja for many years of meetings and cooperation. In a letter read during the yearly Thanksgiving in the Family, he expressed his gratitude to Father Tadeusz Rydzyk for many media, educational and charity projects. The Holy Mass in Toruń was presided over by the Apostolic Nuncio in Poland. The president emphasized the peculiar importance of the word "family" for Poles.
Thanksgiving in the household is an yearly gathering of the community of Radio Maryja, referred to as the household of Radio Maryja. The Holy Mass in the Shrine of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Star of fresh Evangelization and St.John Paul II was presided over by the Apostolic Nuncio in Poland, Archbishop Antonio Guido Filipazi.
In a letter read by his advisor Beata Kempa, the president expressed his gratitude to the founder of Radio Maryja Father Tadeusz Rydzyk. As he pointed out, the clergy inspired a long tradition of Thanksgiving celebrations in the Family.
Special importance of household for Poles
Andrzej Duda thanked the clergyman for many media, educational and charity projects and for the long-term leadership of the community. "The word “family” has a peculiar meaning for us Poles. household is home, security, identity and trust" - wrote the President.
"Our Homeland's activities consist of the experiences of millions of Polish families built on the foundation of Christian values and the love of the Republic. However, your community confirms that specified bonds are not only formed among relatives, that household is besides faithful to ideals connecting people" - added Duda.
Meetings by 2 presidential terms
The president stressed that during his 2 presidential word he had repeatedly met with the Radio Maryja household and addressed her in letters on various occasions. He pointed out that he had a deep respect for the works that began in Toruń.
He mentioned Radio Maryja, "Our Journal", tv Trwam and Academy of Social and Media Culture. "I am certain that the mission carried out by the countries for more than 30 years has importantly influenced Polish society" - he stressed.
Call for Further Service
"Thank you for your regular witness to unity. May there never be enthusiasm in your hearts, motivation to service God and your country" - wrote the President. He thanked for all the years of meetings and concern for the common good.
Duda expressed assurance that the community would proceed to uphold the Christian heritage of the Republic of Poland. The president will end his ten-year presidency on Wednesday, August 6, with the swearing-in of the successor of Karol Nawrocki.
Blessed by the Pope
The Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Philipazi gave the participants of Thanksgiving in the household greetings and blessing of Pope Leon XIV. "I am glad that I can thank the Lord God and the Blessed parent for families and for the household of Radio Maryja" - he said in the homily.
Archbishop Filipazi stressed that the household is simply a positive, large and beautiful reality, fundamental to individual life, Church and society. As an ambassador of the Pope, he asked the full Radio household Mary to accept and distribute what the successor of St Peter teaches the Church and the world.
