Operations Command honored with the “Benemerenti” award

General Bronisław Kwiatkowski, General Bronisław Kwiatkowski, was honored with a unique discrimination of the “Benemerenti” of the Polish Army. The prize on behalf of the institution was received by the operational commander of the RSZ General weapon Maciej Klish. During the ceremony, officers, officers and staff were besides awarded the "Milito Pro Christo" medals to the RSZ.

The award was awarded for caring for the safety of the country in the face of modern threats, for securing peace through the Polish Military Quotas and for supporting charity activities. By the decision of the Polish Army bishop, Wiesław Lechowicz, “Benemerenti” went to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces – the institution liable for planning and commanding operations of the Polish Armed Forces in the country and abroad.

Honoring has a dimension not only symbolic, but besides a Community dimension – emphasises the commitment of the full environment to the RSZ: commanders, officers, enlisted officers, employees of the Ministry of National Defence, whose regular service and work have a real impact on the safety of the Republic.

Highlight ‘Benemerenti’ ("well-deserved") was established by decree of the Bishop of the Polish Army on 23 February 1995. It is awarded: "to item the merits of persons and institutions who bear witness to the highest values of fact and justice in the lives of individuals and society." For more than 3 decades, "Benemerenti" has been going to those who combine public service with the ethos of work and common good.

The award “Benemerenti” is inextricably associated with the medal “Milito Pro Christo”, established in 2001 by the Polish Army. This medal is awarded to people and institutions who deserve the service of military ministry, as well as to those who bear witness to the highest values, service the Republic, preach the fact and work for the public good.

The "Milito Pro Christo" medal is marked by all winners of the "Benemerenti" and, in the case of the MSZ, besides outstanding soldiers and staff of Command.

This year's gala was unique. Its date coincided with the 35th anniversary of the restoration of the Polish Army's Field Ordinariat, which gave the event a special, jubilee dimension. The artistic frame was provided by musicians of the Air Force typical Orchestra from Poznań and the Polish Army typical Artistic Team, highlighting the rank and solemn nature of the event.

The award of the "Benemerenti" to the Operational Command of the RSZ is an expression of appreciation for the full community of service – the 1 seen on abroad missions and on the 1 performed on a regular basis in the country. This proves that professionalism, dedication and fidelity to values stay the foundation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland.
