The commanders of the Lebanon and Pakistan army discussed regional cooperation and safety today. The head of the Pakistani army Asim Munir stated that Islamabad was going to increase defence cooperation with Lebanon," AFP provided a press release to the Pakistani army.

According to a message issued by the Pakistani Army Press Office, both commanders discussed "issues of common interest, evolving regional security, defence cooperation and prospects for strengthening bilateral military relations".

Marshal Munir expressed his desire to further strengthen defence relations between the armed forces of both states. General Rudolf Hajkal appreciated the function of the Pakistani army in ensuring regional stableness and peacekeeping.
