
On the occasion of the 86th anniversary of the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact, Karol Nawrocki warned against imperial resentitions which began to revive in Russia. The president besides stressed the request to draw lessons from history.
– In 1939, Stalin, together with Hitler, concluded an act that opened the way for planet War II and consumed the lives of millions of people worldwide. Poland became the first victim of German and later russian aggression – the president tweeted.
Nawrocki besides stressed that to this day Germany had not accounted for a number of harms that they had done during the war. At the same time, he pointed out that "in Russia, imperial sentiments are revived".
– From that fact, today's planet should draw conclusions and not let sick dreams about the empire to consume more human lives," stressed the president in the Twitter entry.
86th anniversary of the pact
The Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact was signed on 23 August 1939. It contained a secret protocol that divided the sphere of influence in Central and east Europe. As far as Poland is concerned, the pact established that the border of the zones of interest of Germany and the USSR would run along the Narwi, Vistula and Sanu rivers.
