Donald Tusk in Oslo: Partnership for Europe's security

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre met with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tuski yesterday in Oslo. The talks concerned, among others, safety in Europe, the war in Ukraine and the key tasks facing Poland in connection with its leadership in the European Union in this six months.

Partnership for Europe's security

Norway and Poland cooperate on many levels. Poland is 1 of the most crucial and active allies of Ukraine, and both countries cooperate closely in the field of military and civilian assistance for Ukraine. Poland is besides 1 of the most crucial export markets in Norway, especially in the gas and seafood sectors, as the largest client of Norwegian marine products.

– We are very pleased that Prime Minister Tusk visited Norway at the beginning of the Polish Presidency in the European Union. Poland has made European safety a precedence of its leadership, which is simply a wise decision today," said Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

Norway and Poland besides cooperate closely with the EEA funds, where Poland is the largest beneficiary.

“Norway and Poland are good friends and close allies, and we look forward to further deepening this cooperation,” added Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
