Why are we setting up walls again? Anna Maruszko talks to Kasia Sadiak about her movie “MUR”

"Mur" is simply a debut documentary movie directed by Kasi Sadiak, which we could watch in Poland for the first time in December 2023 during the 23rd edition of the WATCH DOCS global movie Festival. He talks about the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border. However, you will not see in it shocking or drastic images.

The film's subject is the wall that stood on the Polish-Belarusian border and it became the reason for the 2 perspectives: contemporary and historical with the personal, household past of Kasi Sadiak. The movie is besides a reflection on the genesis of evil and the functioning of walls in the modern planet – both tangible ones, specified as the wall of the judaic cemetery in Łódź, as well as the invisible ones, manifested in dislike of another man. Why did Kasia Sadiak decide to implement this document? How was it received by the public in Poland and abroad?
