The full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine deepened the feeling of threat on the part of Russia in Moldova and mobilised authorities to rapidly break ties with Moscow and its dependence on it. In little than 5 years, this process has taken over the following levels: economical (energy and trade), legislative, media, linguistic, cultural, political-international and partially even religious. The Kremlin's position in the separatist Transnistria (the alleged left bank) has besides weakened, which has been its de facto protectorate since the 1990s.
