Democratic elections and armed forces

Democratic civilian control of armed forces can never be said besides much, as its principles form a complex and subtle system. It aims to regulate military activities and to strengthen interdependent relations between the military and civilian sphere. Achieving a delicate balance between ensuring a solid defence and maintaining democratic values, the regulation of law and human rights makes civil-military relations always a challenge.
