ATLANTA- Delta Air Lines (DL) faced unwanted attention this week after singer Ryan Adams was removed from a flight and allegedly warned he could be banned from flying with the carrier.
The musician, known for hits like “New York, New York” and “Come Pick Me Up,” took to Instagram to share his frustration with Delta staff at Atlanta Hartsfield–Jackson Airport (ATL), claiming the incident stemmed from a broken First Class seat.

Delta Banned First Class Passenger
According to Adams, the problem began when a Delta flight attendant challenged him for not being properly seated ahead of departure.
Adams says the misunderstanding arose because his seat was broken and being held together with duct tape. He claimed that instead of being offered a functioning alternative, he was asked to leave the aircraft and was later rebooked on another service.
Adams recounted that when he expressed disbelief at the situation to a gate agent, staff allegedly told him his flight was canceled and that he might not be allowed to fly with the airline again.
The artist then posted his version of events on Instagram, writing that his “lawyers are thirsty” following the altercation, PYOK reported.
Social Media Reaction
Although Adams later removed the post from his account, screenshots were quickly shared on Reddit and other platforms.
The singer has nearly one million Instagram followers, and the deleted post circulated widely before disappearing.
Delta Air Lines has not publicly commented on the specifics of the incident, and Adams has not shared whether he intends to pursue legal action or file an official complaint with the airline.

Past Incidents with Ryan Adams
This is not the first time Adams has drawn headlines for confrontations. Years ago, he made news after stopping a concert when an audience member requested Bryan Adams’ “Summer of ’69.”
Adams demanded the disruptive fan leave before continuing his performance, later stating the decision was due to the man being drunk and disorderly.
In 2020, Adams also issued a high-profile public apology after facing multiple allegations of misconduct reported by the New York Times the year prior. The apology marked an attempt to rebuild his reputation within the music industry.
Bottom Line
The latest clash adds Delta Air Lines to the list of organizations caught in public disputes with celebrities via social media.
While details remain limited, the case highlights the challenges airlines face when managing unexpected disruptions onboard, especially when high-profile passengers are involved.
