The Central Celebration of the Polish Army will be held on 15 August in Warsaw, and the parade will start at 12 noon in Wisłostrad. The city announces major changes in traffic from Friday 14 August from 4 p.m. to Saturday until 4 p.m. Residents must prepare for closure of streets and bridges.
Programme and key hours
The military defilada on 15 August will start at 12 noon on the Warsaw Wisłostrad. By MON information On the same day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., military educational and cultural zones will operate in the Citadel of Warsaw and Gdynia. At 8.00 a.m., a Mass for the Homeland was planned in the Field Department of the Polish Army, and at 10 a.m. a solemn change of the honorary post before the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
In parallel, there will be a sea parade. In Gdynia, at Kościuszko Square, the launch was scheduled for 11.30 p.m. This gives this year's celebrations a wider dimension: land, air and sea are to show a state that remembers 1920 and understands today's threats.
Warsaw will stand under a parade
The city warns against obstruction. Service Warsaw 19115 reports that from Friday 14 August from 4 p.m. to Saturday 15 August to 4 p.m., Wisłostrada will be closed on key episodes. The restrictions will besides include access from bridges and routes at the parade itself.
It is crucial for pedestrians and cyclists to close the bridges of Gdańsk, Śląsko-Dąbrowski and the footbridge at Karowa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. any of the passage through Wisłostrada will be closed. The best reflection point was indicated by the skid at the Multimedia Fontann Park.
Festival of Memory and Efficient Organization
These difficulties are real, but it is worth keeping proportions. The Polish Army celebration commemorates the triumph which saved the state's independency and stopped the Bolshevik march to the West. A nation that cannot publically worship its own soldiers rapidly loses its same - preservation instinct.
That's why the defilement makes sense if there's a memory next to logistics and equipment. August 15 is not a hotel picnic. It is simply a reminder that Poland's freedom cost blood, and present it requires an army, industry, reserves and politicians capable of reasoning with categories of state.
