Without concrete agreement on the debate that would take place on Friday in Koński, the gathering on TVP with the participation of the staff of Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki ended. It was besides attended by TVN and Polsat News, and the Republic of tv and Poland were not allowed in24.
The staff of the presidential candidates was to discuss Thursday the debate proposed by the candidate KO with Nawrock, a candidate supported by the Law and Justice; it would scope it on Friday in Koński (Świętokrzyskie province) at 8 p.m.
As she wrote on X after the gathering leading the staff of Trzasków's Wioletta Paprocka-Ślusarska, "in connection with the continuous interruption and inability to know the conditions of the debate, we agreed that tv would send the staff proposals for debate rules by e-mail". TV station dispute
Chief of Staff of Karol Nawrocki Paweł Chief of Staff said after the gathering that there is no agreement by the staff of Trzaskovsky to extend the format of this debate to 5 televisions; TVP, TVN and Polsat declared their readiness to broadcast the debate on Wednesday. Nawrocki's staff wants - as he explains - "out of respect for all Poles" extend the format of the debate on tv Republic and tv in Poland24.
"We have proposed 5 televisions and we hope that Rafał Trzaskowski's staff will agree to this. At this point, 5 televisions are not allowed... They want only TVP, Polsat and TVN, they are afraid of the Republic, in Poland24 and so they did not want to grow this format" - said Chief. "It's disrespectful to people who watch another TVs" - he said.
He argued: "We don't want to destruct anyone, we don't want to destruct TVN, TVP, Polsatu... We want 5 journalists from 5 tv stations... We hope that Trzaskovsky's staff will not chicken out and will want a debate of 5 televisions".
Part of Nawrocki's staff, including PiS MP Przemysław Czarnek, were waiting for talks on "neutral" ground at the Foksal Press Centre. As Czarnek explained, this was intended to dispel any doubts about possible "uniques" before the debate.
The condition for the organisation of a debate for Nawrocki staff is that 5 tv stations, including the Republic and Poland24, participate in the debate. Representatives of both stations appeared at the TVP headquarters, but failed to join the meeting.
Debate in Koński
On Wednesday, candidate KO Rafał Trzaskowski proposed a debate supported by PiS to candidate Karol Nawrock, which would take place next Friday, 11 April, in Koński (Świętokrzyskie). Nawrocki replied that he was ready for debate; however, he made the condition - that all tv should participate in it.
On the same day, a dispute arose between the candidates' staff regarding the place and date of the gathering on the organisation of the debate.
