I late wrote about the cutting of nearly a hectare of old beech tree in the Magursk National Park in
branch 59a in the sound Protection Oblast (https://lukashluczaj.pl/smutna-dewastacja-maghurski-park-national/). I'm fresh after taking part in the discipline board of this park and I have more details. Part of the gathering was devoted to this subject. From the clipping was explained by MPN manager Mr Norbert Kieć, and the scale of violations of basic management rules in the forest national park was explained by a associate of the board Dr. Dominik Wróbel.
Imagine that almost 1 ha of Carpathian beech was cut out and the park sold respective 100 cases of wood, mostly as sawmill wood. It's all under the pretext of protégéing a fir that's full in the park. The following with approval of Dr Sparrow I cut the content from respective slides of his presentation:
Habitat 9130 in ward 59a
- According to the taxi description, for the full 59a, the cut habitat lobe
characterized by multidimensional differentiation: - species in the wood (bukkard, fir, elm, savor, cherry) and
growth and raid (buk, iodide), with an increase dominated by iodide 9:1, - Age (bukkok 120, 100, 75), fir 120, elm 110, cider and cherry 80,
- Spatial (confusion in clumps, 6-10 ar).
- The convex of the stand was referred to as average (UM) — between
with crowns there are narrow breaks, including breaks in which it houses
one tree, meaning the amount of light at the bottom of the forest was
Optimal for iodine growth. - Compliance with the kind of forest — COMPLIANCE
- Tree characteristics – NATURAL TREE
Habitat assessment 9130 in division 59a - Assessment of parameters Structure and function that are crucial for the assessment
overall habitat: Tree structure, Age, Restoration received rating
the appropriate FV. - The reduced F1 or bad F2 assessment was granted to indicators: Dead wood,
Dead large-sized wood, Distortions related to
logging. - The overall assessment of the U1 lobe is mainly due to the Dead Deficiency
Wood and Dead Large-Dimension Wood. - The habitat assessment developers (PAN IOP) recommended leaving the lobe without
use.
Evaluation of the actions carried out - No indication for specified activities (typical tree, compatible
habitat, differentiated, habitat for key indicators
the appropriate state of protection of FV). - Destruction of the habitat and failure of its area (the failure of the surface cannot be justified
overall resources in the area, as specified assessment of the importance of habitat destruction
apply to projects covered by the EIA procedure). - Worse conditions in adjacent lobes (the actual impact is significantly
wider, unveiling of the forest wall, harm to the stableness of the ground, weakening of the tree stand). - Start erosion processes.
- Lack of discernment of the positions of protected species at the site of the work.
- Ensuring safety on trails does not require removal of all trees but only
threatening to fall or break. - Collecting wood and selling outside the local community.
The presented example is 1 of the most shocking activities in Polish national parks and I hope that it will receive action from the fresh squad of the Ministry of Environment. On the occasion, I appeal to this ministry for the issue of an yearly moratorium for the sale of wood in national parks until the immense irregularities affecting Polish nature are explained. There's been quite a few talk lately about expanding protected areas. I'd start by banning clippings in these parks and expanding funds for national parks. Get out of the national parks!
