Can Simion's triumph make Romania stray from the pro-Western path?

After counting 99.9% of Simion's votes, leader of the Union of Romanian Unity (AUR), won support of 40.96 percent of the election participants. Second place was the centre-right mayor of Bucharest Nicosor Dan - 20.99 percent, and on the 3rd Crin Antonescu, a candidate supported by the ruling coalition, with 20.07 percent votes.
