Declaration by the fresh Pope, Leon XIV in his first speech on the balcony of St. Peter: “We want to be a Church that always seeks peace, love and always wants to be close to those who suffer” is read in quite a few ways. However, taken literally, it may indicate that the Vatican will take more vigorous action to end at least those armed conflicts that it may have any influence on, and thus those which are theoretically regarded as Christian.
