Isn't that the price of freedom?
date:24 January 2024 Editor: GKut

For the smooth functioning of the state, all resorts are important. But 2 ministries are crucial due to the fact that they are liable for the global position and safety of Poland. This is the Ministry of abroad Affairs and the Ministry of National Defence. Therefore, it may be amazing that in the first period of coalition regulation 8 stars the heads of both of these resorts were virtually absent. There were doubts as to whether individual was always appointed to these positions.

And that is what we have learned 40 days after the government's oath about the first decisions of both ministers. Radosław Sikorski announced his intention to “unilaterally pronounce a letter of intent on the proposal to the European Court of Human Rights based on the alleged Smolensk study with the firm Emerson Consulting concluded on the initiative of Antoni Macierewicz". On the same day, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz reported on "the establishment of a squad for the evaluation of the functioning of the Smolensk Subcommittee Antoni Macerewicz”.

After 14 years, we inactive have no full cognition of what happened on April 10, 2010 over Smolensk. On the 1 hand, there is simply a study by Tatiana Anodina and Jerzy Miller, whose thesis contradicts the simple laws of physics. On the another hand, it is simply a logical and technically consistent study of the Smolensk Subcommittee indicating that the disaster was the consequence "act of unlawful interference". These 2 documents, these 2 narratives are the reason for the dramatic division of Polish society. It would seem that the only way to reconcile, so willingly declared by Tusk, is to give a fair explanation of all doubts and establish the fact about what happened over Smolensk. Meanwhile, Kosiniak-Kamysz announced, alternatively of investigating the causes of the catastrophe, a survey of the activities of the committee which tried to identify and explain these causes. Sikorski announced that “The Polish government will not bring a suit against Russia to ETPCz in connection with the plane crash Tu-154M”.

Both decisions by the ministers are shocking, but Sikorski's decision is peculiarly scandalous. This is not about the issue of the dispute with Russia, with which, at least since its attack on Ukraine, both Poland and most civilized countries, it maintains no relations. The aim is to establish the fact which would liberate us from the interior dispute and the dramatic division of Polish society. This was the function of the complaint prepared by the renowned British law firm Emerson Consulting and the judgement of the European Court of Human Rights. It should be remembered that the subject of the dispute with Russia and at the same time the subject of the division of the Polish society, is not only a question of the causes of the catastrophe, but besides the question of Russia's actions after the disaster. The Court should besides measure and justice that Russia did not return to us the wreckage of a tupolev, which is the property of the Polish state, that it did not respond to applications for legal aid in accordance with global law, that it committed the savage desecration of the bodies of the victims of this catastrophe. In this context, the reasons for the decision to unilaterally denounce the letter of intent on the application to ETPCz is Kuriosic. Sikorski stated that it was “exposing taxpayers to unjustified expenditureIt’s okay. ”

How much was that spending? The remuneration of Emerson Consulting paid from the state budget was to be EUR 213,500, which, at the current rate, amounts to PLN 928,725. Is that a lot or a small bit? The budget for the year 2024 on the gross side is expected to amount to PLN 682.4 billion. Thus, the remuneration of the law firm is 0.000137 % of the yearly state budget. The average net remuneration in 2023 was about PLN 5,350 per period in Poland, or PLN 64,200 per year. It is as if someone, having a wage at national average level, finds that spending PLN 0.088, virtually 9 cents, exposes his household budget to unjustified expenditure. Would 1 of the readers, in a dispute with a neighbor, a friend, or an employer, hesitate to spend 9 cents to draw up an application to a tribunal that could deal with the dispute and effort to settle it?

You can besides look at Emerson Consulting's wage in another way. These 928 1000 zlotys divided into 37.68 million Polish residents are spending 2.5 cents per person. Can't we afford, or can't we each afford to spend 2.5 cents on global arbitration on this highly crucial issue? In the article “Russian gameplay script with Poland” published in the web magazine, a well-known writer and analyst and expert on Russia and areas post-Soviet Mark Wakez wrote: “In my opinion, The Russians have already begun another “Polish operation”and what happens in our country, even if it is not inspired and fueled by them, makes it easier for them to carry it outIt’s okay. ” The article besides contains another very crucial words: “If the Russians learned something about the war in Ukraine, it is above all that conquering a determined and prepared society is highly difficultIt's not even possible. Things are completely different erstwhile it comes to a divided nation, divided, absorbed by interior disputes, or even hating their fellow citizens. It’s okay. ”

Therefore, any action that will origin the Polish people not to be divided and divided must be taken. Minister Sikorski's decision to unilaterally denounce the letter of intent unfortunately strengthens and deepens these divisions, this decision is in Russia's vital interest. That's why we Polish society should, with the aid of a law firm specified as Emerson Consulting, to apply to the European Court of Human Rights. I hope, I firmly believe that there will be an Association or another social organization that, in cooperation with a renowned law firm, will make specified a proposal. And the costs will be borne by Polish society as part of a national collection. I first declare the willingness to pay 2.5 cents in my name, as well as the readiness to pay due sum on behalf of respective dozen, or even respective 100 people who cannot afford to bear specified expenses of 2.5 cents.

“Polish operation” has already begun. Covering the costs of the application to ETPCz can be the price for learning the truth, it can be the price for uniting the Polish nation, it can be the price of freedom. present this price of freedom is inactive countable, it can be expressed in gold. In a fewer months, a fewer years from now, it can be incalculable, it can be expressed in shed blood. Then everyone will pay it, regardless of which side of divided Poland they are presently on.
