The facts are inexorably clear: Rafał Trzaskowski passes into past as the first candidate for president of the Republic of Poland, who – as president of the capital – has introduced a de facto ban on Christian symbolism in offices.

What do you request to know?

  • On 8 May, the president of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski published order No. 822/2024, establishing ‘standards of equal treatment’ in Warsaw offices
  • One of these “standards” proved to be a ban on the vulnerability of the Cross and spiritual symbolism.
  • Rafał Trzaskowski struck not only a spiritual symbol, but besides an organic symbol related to Polish past and culture
  • =======================================================================================================

Earlier, only those who exercised power by giving communist russian powers did this. Shocking, but that's what it is.

Trzaskowski He did it on his own. He made his own choice with them in 1 line. Although there is inactive a cross in the Polish Parliament and even though Sigismund III – the monarch who established Warsaw in the late 16th century – stands on Castle Square on a column with a powerful cross. And a sword that symbolizes the strength of the Republic.

The Cross is besides a cultural symbol

Apparently, this cross of Sigismund III, which is associated with the union of state power with Christianity, is simply a weak argument about crosses in offices. Poles recognise the separation of the Church from the State. However, let us remember that the Cross is not only a spiritual object, but besides a cultural symbol. And since it is simply a symbol, any prohibitions and precepts on the Cross inevitably gotta reckon with the reaction in the planet of symbolism. Symbolism not so much religious, but national and historical. After all, Poland was created as a Christian state and continued through past as a “premature of Christianity”. Taking -in the name of Christianity and the Cross - military victories ("veni, vidi, Deus Vicit – I came, I saw, God prevailed" Jan Sobieski close Vienna) and resisting the invaders and occupiers.

Pronunciation of War in the Symbolic World

So Trzaskowski, wishing not to, stood symbolically (I emphasize!) not so much against historical facts, but national legends – the full imaginarium symbols and narratives which carry deeper fact than simply historical.

Which is:

  • against Polish chivalry singing The parent of Godunder Grunwald,
  • against the Sejm Sermons Father Complaint,
  • v Father Kordecki celebrating the cross and the monstrance of the walls of the Jasna Góra monastery,
  • against the popular words “Only under the Cross, only under this sign | Poland is Poland, and Polak is Polish” (reputed wrongly to Mickiewicz),
  • v children on strike in September in 1901 under Prussian occupation, which defended the union of religion and Polishness against Germanization.
  • vIgnacy Skorupkawho rose the cross, dying in the conflict of Warsaw
  • against 3 crosses Monument to the Lost Shipyards of 1970
  • against the words of the preamble Constitution of the Republic of Polandwho talk of gratitude to the ancestors for “a culture rooted in the Christian heritage of the Nation”.
  • against the 2014 passed by the Polish Senate, initiated by – what a paradox! – the OP Senators “on the respect of the Cross”. This Chamber, chaired by the legislature Marshal Bogdan Borusewicz with the PO, she firmly stated that “any effort to prohibit the placing of the Cross in schools, hospitals, offices and public spaces in Poland must be considered to be acceptable to our tradition, memory and national pride.”

The final test will take place on 1 June

The fact that this presidential candidate was able to win so many votes in the first circular of elections proves that there has been a profound cultural change in Polish society. Only a decade ago would have been impossible. That would have been unthinkable before.

I repeat: the cross at the office is not a subject of worship, but above all a symbol of the cultural and historical continuity of the state since 966 – the year of Poland's baptism. Taking care of this continuity is 1 of the President's duties as Head of State.

past can't be changed. All you can do is fake it. erstwhile the symbol is attacked, it doesn't substance what the reason or arguments of the attacker are. The symbol does not accept any compromises. It requires defense. May 18th, it didn't happen.

June 1 will be a second chance and then voters will decide. This will be an crucial test. The consequence of the election will tell about the Poles A.D. 2025 much more than who will be their president.
