"Former Russian military commander in Syria and Ukraine, Gen. Sergei Surowikin, heads a group of Russian military advisers in Algeria. According to Prof. Przemysław Żurawski, a.k.a. Grajewski, these activities aim at displacing French influences from Africa and expanding Russia's access to natural materials. In Algeria, Surowikin officially operates as the head of a group of military specialists. The Kremlin, after the revolt of the Primogyn, replaces Wagner Group with the African Corps, subordinate to the Russian MON. The fresh formation operates in Mali, Libya and Niger, among others. According to the expert, the rivalry between Paris and Moscow is in the interest of Poland.”
