Four people died and 4 were badly injured on Tuesday 1 September in an accident on the A1 motorway in the Mykanova area close Czestochowa. The truck hit a Mercedes that the repair crew was working on. The driver was stopped and traffic towards Katowice was diverted by a detour from Radomsk.
Accidents during repair work
The tragedy occurred on Tuesday morning on the A1 motorway road leading towards Katowice. According to the preliminary findings of the Częstochowa police, the driver of the truck set from an unestablished origin raided the Mercedes car. There was a group of people performing repairs on this section of the road.
Four people died. 4 more in dense condition were transported to hospitals. Emergency services and police were working on the scene to safe the tracks and find the exact course of the incident.
Truck driver stopped
The truck driver has been stopped and remains in the hands of the police. A breathalyzer test showed he was sober. Officers besides announced blood collection to check for alcohol or another substances acting in a akin way.
Just stopping doesn't prejudge responsibility. The origin of the impact remains unexplained and further steps will be decided by the results of the examination, investigating and conduct of the competent authorities. A presumption of innocence applies to the driver.
Tour from Radomska
On Tuesday afternoon, the obstacles to A1 towards Katowice were expected to take respective hours. Police designated a detour starting in Radomsk and reported that traffic on this way is smooth. The journey towards Łódź was no longer difficult.
But human tragedy remains the most important. 4 people have lost their lives and 4 are fighting for wellness after a serious accident. Its causes require peace, integrity and respect for the victims and their loved ones.
