How to respond in a crisis situation? What should the emergency pack contain? How to decision in an unknown territory? These questions can be answered during classes organized by soldiers in the “Train with the Army” action. On Saturday, their next edition took place. In Gdynia, nearly 200 people were trained under the supervision of the Territorials of the 7th OT Brigade.
Another weekend and another edition of the action "Train with the Army". This time, training for volunteers who would like to learn the basics of military crafts has organized, among others, the 7th Territorial Defence Brigade, and it took place at the site of the 43rd Transport Air Base in Gdynia.
Soldiers prepared 15 training points for their guests, where volunteers could effort on weapons, both short and long, and besides check their accuracy on the MSBS Grot. Anyone could besides effort on a vest, a helmet, a gas mask, learn to throw a grenade, learn how the military communication strategy works, practice a drill, drive a quad ride or test their fitness on the obstacle track. – The biggest interest was undoubtedly all the positions in which arms classes took place. There was not adequate time to learn how to shoot, but the participants of the class could learn, for example, how to disassemble and lay down their weapons, reload, change the magazine – says Captain Tomasz Klucznik, a press officer. 7 BOT.
During the class, much attention was besides paid to issues concerning emergency behaviour. teacher soldiers informed participants about how to admit individual alarm signals and how to behave, erstwhile they were announced, advised how to pack an evacuation backpack, mask their presence at a given location or give first aid. – It is cognition that can be useful erstwhile it turns out that you gotta last a fewer days in an unknown area or erstwhile there is no electricity or water. specified situations frequently happen unexpectedly to respond rapidly and effectively, you request to know what to do, due to the fact that the time to find information may no longer be – explains Captain Klucznik.
In total, nearly 200 people took part in the training under the supervision of the territorials of 7 BOT. The brigade spokesperson admits that the interest in training amazed even the organizers themselves. Initially, 150 people were planned to be invited to attend, with 240 volunteers reporting themselves. – The youngest associate was 15, the oldest 60. Students, entrepreneurs, staff of budgetary institutions came to the class, so it can be said that the full section of society, just as it looks in the territorial defence troops, says Captain Kluknik.
Among the participants were logistics specialists. As they say, to spend the day with soldiers encouraged them to see MSBS Grot with their own eyes. – But besides interesting were endurance classes, I want they were so short. Throwing a grenade or crossing the obstacle track are besides not things that can just be done on a regular basis, says Dominik. "These classes are an interesting option for people who think about joining the army, although they can besides gain cognition useful in civilians, I mean, first aid. It is worth participating in them – adds Bartek.
The soldiers besides offered their guests a conventional military pea and invited them for a grilled sausage. At the end of the class, each volunteer received a certificate confirming participation in the training. – The participants were smiling, so I think everything worked out. Who knows, possibly with these classes 1 of them will be curious in the military adequate to decide? Be a soldier? – Captain Klucznik wonders. And it is possible that this will happen, due to the fact that the training was besides attended by representatives of the Military Recruitment Centre from Gdynia, who informed about the offer of the Polish Army. Those curious in talking about it were not short.
