TwitterSpeaker of the Sejm Włodzimierz Czarzasty referred on Wednesday 2 September 2026 before the beginning of the Chamber's deliberations to the allegations of president Karol Nawrocki concerning blocking presidential legislative initiatives.
Earlier, the head of state released a recording in which she accused the majority of the ruling of the deficiency of work on submitted projects and appealed for them to proceed: "I repeat my appeal to the coalition and the marshal: remove these projects from the seismic freezer".
In consequence to these words, the talker of the Sejm directed a direct message to the President, accusing him of misleading the public:
“Mr President, either you are being misled by your surroundings or you are simply lying. The best answer to what you said and recorded specified a movie about the laws and functioning of the Sejm will be the truth.”
Legislative statistic on presidential initiatives
The Marshal of the Sejm provided detailed data on the phase of work on all 23 draft laws which had been received from the Chancellery of the president into the Lower home of Parliament:
"There are 23 presidential projects that have entered the Sejm. 4 projects were considered, Mr President, not one.”
The information provided by Włodzimierz Czarzasty shows that 9 presidential projects are presently at the phase of work in the parliamentary committees, 1 has been sent for first reading in plenary, and 2 are subject to ongoing consultation and opinion procedure. With respect to the another documents, the marshal specified the reasons for stopping them:
"One task has no object, 3 projects have been announced by the government and groups of Members. Mr President's projects will be directed further as these projects of another actors flow and 2 projects are in consultation and opinion, and now let's deal with specifics."
Three of the submitted proposals were straight referred to as legal bublis, thus maintaining his earlier post from the end of August, in which he declared full verification of the charges of the Presidential Palace before the first presidential session of the Sejm.
