Christmas is getting closer! Lecturers, students and SEW staff met on symbolic Christmas Eve.

On December 18-19, 2023, Christmas meetings for SEW staff and students of east Studies were held at the University of east Europe.

The first Christmas gathering for students and their lecturers was held on 18 December, to which all students and SEW lecturers were invited. The event was organized according to tradition by first-year students. During the authoritative part of Dr. Irena Bilinska and Mr. Dyr. Jan Malicki presented the awards to 3 students from each year who received the highest average last year. The students, on the another hand, thanked the teachers of the survey on the basis of their surveys.

  • Dr. Anton Saifullayeu won his diploma in the category of the most interesting lectures.
  • Dr. Irena Bilinska was awarded for her top heart towards students.
  • For guaranteed deficiency of boredom during the classes, students awarded Mr Andrzej Buczyński.
  • Dr. Hab. Mariusz Kowalski received a diploma for his best sense of humor.
  • Professor Andrzej Żbikowski was awarded for the most interesting and many digressions.

During the unofficial part, everyone had the chance to talk while eating pastries and dishes brought by students. All awarded students and lecturers are congratulated and thank you for your presence.

The second Christmas gathering for academics, administrative staff and sympathizers of the east European University of Warsaw took place on December 19 at the Ballroom of the Tyszkiewicz-Potocki Palace. The gathering was besides attended by a delegation of part of the seniors of the discipline ellipse of the east European University of Warsaw. The guests were greeted by manager Jan Malicki, who in his speech thanked all employees for their work in 2023 in many scientific, conference, promotional and another activities.

During the gathering there was a unique chance to perceive to the carols performed by the band Apparentwhich operates under the auspices of the Faculty of Culture and Arts of the University of Warsaw. The band's repertoire is conventional folk songs from Pozmnia, sung a cappella in local dialects of Polish and Belarusian. The squad reconstructs the repertoire that was collected as part of ethnomusicological field studies in the Niemen River basin and surrounding areas in Belarus. The band included a postgraduate of east Studies, Mrs Anastasia Nekrasova.
