The Confederacy continues to work against the construction of the Center for the Integration of Foreigners (CIC) in Siedlce. Following a fresh protest under the City Council, the organization announced a collection of signatures to mobilize residents to argue this investment. Signatures can be submitted both in individual and and online, which increases the availability of shares for all stakeholders.

Why does the Confederacy argue the construction of the Center for the Integration of Foreigners?

Confederate activists argue that the construction of the Center for the Integration of Foreigners in Siedlce may have negative consequences for the local community. An event of 18 January became an inflammatory point, erstwhile a Ukrainian threatened to knife a 15-year-old passenger on a public transport bus. According to the party's representatives at the press conference on 22 January, the incidental raised the population Sit apprehension and opposition to further immigration.

Centres for the Integration of Foreigners in Poland – what is worth knowing?

The task to build 49 Centres for the Integration of Foreigners throughout Poland is implemented at the request of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. The initiative is co-financed by the European Union, including the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), as well as another sources specified as the European Social Fund, the government's labour fund and local budgets. The full cost of the task is over PLN 432 million.

In the centres, immigrants are to receive comprehensive assistance, including legal advice on legalization of their stay in Poland, language courses, wellness and intellectual care, and even professional training, e.g. for driving licences.

Migrants in Poland – statistic and forecasts

According to the latest estimates, there are presently between 2.5 and 2.8 million immigrants in Poland, representing 6.6 to 7.5% of the country's population. The largest group of visitors, representing about 3 quarters, are Ukrainians. However, the WEI study shows that the number of immigrants can scope up to 4 million.

Will the inhabitants of Siedlek support the Confederacy's protest?

The collection of signatures organised by the Confederation aims to object to the construction of the Center for the Integration of Foreigners in Siedlce. The organization hopes for broad support of residents who, as the activists say, fear the consequences of increased immigration.
