Electoral silence across Poland

Due to the second circular of presidential elections from the north from Friday to Saturday (from 30 to 31 May), there is simply a voter silence throughout the country. It is planned to end on Sunday, June 1st at 21 o'clock, at the time of the authoritative end of the vote. However, it may happen that it will be extended if even at 1 location the vote is interrupted for extraordinary reasons.

Electoral silence is simply a time erstwhile there is simply a ban on agitation in favour of any candidate seeking the highest office in the country. No 1 is then allowed to print (also online) any material concerning them (texts, graphics, surveys, forecasts, partial voting results). The ban besides includes: holding election meetings, giving speeches, giving out or suspending advertising content (leaflets, banners).

Breaking the ban is punishable. Its dimension depends on guilt. The lowest is simply a fine of up to PLN 5 thousand, but for publication of the polls it could amount to PLN million. The highest is imprisonment for up to 2 years.

The time of the election, besides involves a strong action of disinformation. False messages are published deliberately misleading the public. Any irregularities should be reported to the law enforcement authorities or through the website www.safeelection.pl.
