The National Election Commission (PPP) recalls that there are a number of restrictions in the period of election silence. This is simply a time of calm reflection on the election decision. Pursuant to Article 107 of the Electoral Code under punishment Any kind of political agitation is prohibited. It is not possible to organize conventions, parades, demonstrations, speeches, or to distribute election material. These restrictions besides apply to the Internet. For example, writing comments and posts on candidates on social media is not allowed. Moreover, during the period electoral silence may not be moved by vehicles on which advertising related to candidates is included. Materials that have been published before election silence request not be removed from public space. However, it is crucial that they must not be modified or moved during this time.
When voting at the polling station we must besides remember not to display subtitles, signs and symbols associated with candidates. Violation of this prohibition is treated as an offence, while making public polls and projected election results as a crime. It is besides worth mentioning that voting cards must not be taken outside the polling place. This action is punishable by fines, restrictions on freedom and even imprisonment for up to 2 years.
