The French authorities accused Russian military intelligence of participating in a series of cyber attacks on their country that took place over the decades. The group in question is APT28 (Fancy Bear), known for its attacks on European and American government resources, as the French Ministry of abroad Affairs claims. The French authorities accused the most celebrated Russian hacker group of cyber attacks of organising president Emmanuel Macron's 2017 election campaign.
