The African continent since the 3rd decade of the 21st century has been marked by the redefining of partnerships. This is most evident in the actions of the French Republic, which systematically loses partners from the erstwhile colonial empire. This trend began the Sahel military sovereign junta. It was continued by Chadian president Mahamat Déby Itno. All indications are that the 5th Republic soldiers will leave Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire in 2025.
