The Command Advocate, Colonel Shi Yi, stressed that these actions constitute a "reasoned and essential action to defend China's sovereignty and national unity".
At the same time, the Chinese Army published multimedia material online, including a recording on which Taiwan's president Lai Ching-te is portrayed as a "parasite" and a poster showing Chinese combat aircraft and ships around the island, over which the sign “we are approaching” appears in the evidence of conventional Chinese characters utilized in Taiwan.
The Taiwanese authorities have expressed condemning the exercise as a threat to peace and stableness in the region. The Ministry of Defence there reported that it had sent troops to monitor the situation and respond accordingly.
