Chinese football poker – president of the CZPN sentenced to life imprisonment

On Wednesday, July 30th, the People's Court of Songzi, Hubei Province, announced a first instance judgement concerning participants of the celebrated corruption scandal in Chinese football. There were 20 football activists before the court in this case. All of them were found guilty and convicted:

  • – erstwhile president of the Chinese Superliga Liu Jun – for 11 years in prison,
  • – erstwhile president of the disciplinary commission of the Chinese Football Union Wang Xiaoping – for 10 years and 6 months in prison.
  • Former Chin Li Tie typical staff coach – for 20 years in prison; the conviction was retained at second instance.
  • – erstwhile Deputy manager of the General Sports Administration, Du Zhaocai – for 14 years in prison and a fine of RMB 4 million.
  • – erstwhile president of the Chinese Football Union, Chen Xuyuan (photo) – for life, deprived of public rights for life and punished with the confiscation of all individual property.
  • – erstwhile president of the disciplinary committee of the Chinese football union, Wang Xiaoping – for 10 years and 6 months in prison and a fine of 700,000 RMB.
  • – erstwhile president of the Chinese Super League Company Liu Jun – for 11 years in prison and a fine of RMB 1.1 million.
  • – erstwhile Vice president Chengdu Football Association Liu Gang – for 8 years in prison and a fine of 700,000 RMB.
  • – erstwhile Secretary General of the Chinese Football Union Liu Yi for 11 years in prison and fine of 3.6 million RMB.
  • – erstwhile manager of the Justices Management Department of the Chinese Football Union Tan Hai – for 6 years and 6 months in prison and a fine of 200,000 RMB.
  • – erstwhile Head of strategical Planning Department of the Chinese Football Union Qi Jun- for 7 years in prison and a fine of 600,000 RMB.
  • – erstwhile Vice president of the Chinese Football Union Li Yuya – for 11 years in prison and a fine of 1,000,000 RMB.
  • – erstwhile Vice president of the Chinese Football Union Yu Hongchen -for 13 years in prison and a fine of RMB 2 million.
  • – erstwhile Permanent Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Football Union and erstwhile manager of Chen Yongliang National Representation Management Department – for 14 years in prison and a fine of RMB 2.2 million.
  • – erstwhile CEO of China's Superliga Dong Zheng – for 8 years in prison and a fine of RMB 2 million.
  • – erstwhile president of the Chinese Super League Company, Ma Chengquan, for 11 years and 3 months in prison and a fine of 800,000 RMB.
  • – erstwhile manager of the Chinese Football Union Department, Huang Song, for 7 years in prison and a fine of 600,000 RMB for accepting bribes.
  • – erstwhile president and Secretary General of the Chinese Football Union in Chengdu and erstwhile associate of the Executive Committee of the Chinese Football Union, Gu Jianming, for 6 years in prison and a fine of 400,000 RMB.
  • – erstwhile Vice president of the Wuhan Physical Culture Center and erstwhile manager of the Department of Competitions of the Wuhan Football Management Center, Liu Lei, was convicted of 2 years and 6 months of bribery and 300,000 RMB fine.
  • – erstwhile manager of the Wuhan Football Management Centre, erstwhile Vice president and General Secretary of the Chinese Football Union in Wuhan, Fu Xiang, for 11 years in prison and a fine of RMB 1.4 million.

That's what I call Chinese football poker. The boys can now train and play prison league games. They've got a full scale plus a backup.
