China's Longest way from Shenzhen to Mexico City Hits 50,000 Trips

SHENZHEN- China Southern Airlines (CZ) has announced that its direct passenger route between Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (SZX) and Mexico City International Airport (MEX) has handled more than 50,000 passenger trips since its launch.

The long-haul service, in operation for over a year, connects Shenzhen with Mexico City, marking the longest nonstop international passenger flight currently offered by a Chinese carrier.

China Southern Shenzhen to Mexico City

Spanning over 14,000 kilometers, the Shenzhen–Mexico City route is China’s longest international passenger service.

Operated by the Airbus A350, the outbound journey runs non-stop from Shenzhen to Mexico City, while the inbound flight includes a scheduled stop in Tijuana (TIJ). This strategic link strengthens global connectivity between Asia and Latin America.

Since its launch on May 11, 2024, the route has completed 348 flights, carrying more than 50,000 passengers as of September 21.

Among these, 27,000 passengers traveled outbound from Shenzhen to Mexico City, while 23,000 made the return trip.

In addition, over 1,700 tonnes of cargo have been transported, enhancing bilateral trade opportunities.

According to Yuan Jintao, general manager of China Southern Airlines Shenzhen Branch, the route facilitates greater access for Chinese enterprises to the Mexican market.

It supports trade efficiency, accelerates supply chain flows, and contributes to growing commercial exchanges between China and Latin America.

The frequency of three round-trip flights per week ensures stable passenger flow and cargo movement.

This steady schedule positions the Shenzhen–Mexico City connection as a critical infrastructure component within global aviation and trade networks.
