In April this year, China Commercial Aircraft corp (COMAC, chin. 中国商用飞机公司) concluded 2 contracts for transportation C919 aeroplanes with 2 flagship Chinese airlines:
- Air China Airlines Company (chin. 中国国际航空公司) and
- China confederate Airlines Company (chin. 中国南方航空公司).
Each contract concerns the transportation of 100 aircraft, and the value of each contract is USD 110.8 billion (approx. PLN 440.75 billion), at a unit catalogue price of USD 108 million (approx. PLN 432.74 million).
The machines will be delivered successively to the recipients from 2024 to 2031.
Last September, a akin contract for a supplier of 100 C919 aircraft was signed with COMAC by China east Airlines Company (chin. 中国东方航空公司). Currently, this line operates the first 2 C919 machines.
COMAC and C919 are becoming an increasingly real competitive challenge for Airbus and Boeing. For now there are besides abroad entities on the Chinese market, but among the 30 companies that have already ordered over 1000 C919 aircraft. The COMAC declares that it will be able to deliver up to 150 aircraft per year over a period of 3 to 5 years, thanks to its expanding production capacity.
C919 is simply a narrow hull passenger aircraft, the first of its kind completely designed and constructed in China. Depending on the version, it can accommodate 158 to 168 passengers and scope a scope of 4075 to 5555 kilometres. According to manufacture experts, C919 is simply a direct competition for Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 neo. These second are mounted at the Chinese Airbus plant in TianJin.

COMAC carries out far-reaching work on wide-hull long-range aircraft C929. The first test flight of this device is scheduled for 2025.
