Mirne Houses – what is it?
Humanosh Foundation He's been looking after political refugees for many years. In 2021 she renovated and opened the first Mirnyj Dom in Warsaw. It was a refuge for visitors from Belarus. The outbreak of the war in Ukraine contributed to the beginning of 3 more facilities in 2022. 2 in Warsaw and 1 in Podwarszawski Nadarzyn.
The launch, equipment and maintenance of the Mirny home was mostly possible thanks to the funds obtained from the first charity auction held on 17 February 2021. The sum of over 100 1000 zlotys was collected. The auction of 2022 brought a akin sum, which importantly fed the budgets of the Mirne Houses.

Monthly maintenance costs of 1 facility (especially during the heating period) are a sum frequently exceeding PLN 30 thousand. "Minne Houses is simply a place where refugees can stay for 3 months. Of course, there are people who rapidly find work and decision early. However, we besides have aged or sick people who have no chance of surviving alone. The thought of Mirny Houses is simply a community, offering residents a substitute home, household life. all home has a shared space where people gather at night, watch TV, talk, cook together. Forced emigration is simply a powerful trauma, so no 1 in it should be sentenced to loneliness" - says Katarzyna Skopec, president of the Foundation.
Success and large commitment on the side, both artists and buyers themselves, became a motor for organizing another auction. This time besides no of the invited people refused to help. More than 30 artists donated the work. The work of Ukrainian artists is fresh this year. Most of them live and make on emigration, including in Poland, but all have retained and cherished the national identity that is noticeable in their works.

"We have wonderful young but already known in the world, artists from Belarus, specified as: Alexandr Adamov, Igor Tishin, Sergey Shahohin, Tatiana Radsivilko. She besides donated her work to advance freedom Jana Shostak. Among Ukrainian artists worth mentioning Alina Sokolova, Danilea Galkina or Pavlo Makova. They are artists already known on the global art market. Katarzyna Kozira, Paweł Kowalewski or Rafał Olbiński are names commonly known not only in Poland, the more we are glad that they are with us again. The thought of freedom, independence, the fight against the government is very close to Poles, so I hope that this year's auction will at least repeat the results of erstwhile and Mirne Houses will be able to proceed to function" - continues Katarzyna Skopiec.
