Center of Life and Family: Another country fights for the young generation. And Poland?
date:22 February 2024 Editor: Anna

We know how distracting mobile phones are in classrooms. present we aid schools put an end to this.
Unfortunately, these words have not come out of the mouth of any Polish politician: neither the Prime Minister, nor the Minister of Education, nor even little decision-making people in these matters. Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister of large Britain, is the author of these words. And this country, as fresh days show, can be an crucial example of how we act and act in the defence of children and young people.
Britain has just banned the usage of telephones in schools, following in the footsteps of countries specified as France, Italy and the Netherlands.

British experts clearly point to the immense risks that children and young people gotta usage their phones in schools. This is not only a distraction that as many as 1/3 of the students talk about, but besides the anticipation of abuse or another forms of violence, as well as access to inappropriate content.
If you are inactive asking yourself whether specified a ban will actually have any affirmative effects, let me quote the conclusions of researchers from the UK. According to them, removing phones from schools:
- will have a affirmative impact on the educational results of students,
- improve safety in educational establishments,
- removes the problem of stigmatizing students from poorer families who have older or cheaper phones,
- will aid children establish contacts in the real world, alternatively than limit themselves to virtual interactions,
- increase their chances of appropriate socialisation,
- may be a key means of preventing psychiatric disorders, including depression.
Such legislation, limiting or completely prohibiting the usage of mobile phones and another mobile devices in schools, is gaining expanding support worldwide. Since the fresh year, the ban has been introduced by the Netherlands and previously by France, Italy, Portugal or Greece.
You could say the planet is waking up from digital lethargy!
But unfortunately... not all of it.
In Poland, we are inactive waiting for the government to seriously address this issue. It seems that specified actions are not tasteful to politicians, due to the fact that although they usually effort so hard to match all European standards, in this case they do not want to make circumstantial decisions.
What is even more sad and disturbing is the support of many parents. Unfortunately, the awareness of how dangerous mob devices can be in the hands of the youngest, how destructive their psyche is and what dangers there are on the Internet, is inactive very low.
Can we change that? I would so like to ask for your help.
First of all, at base work. due to the fact that convincing parents, grandparents, teachers and educators that we request to take on this fresh and hard problem which brings with us universal access to modern technologies is the key to convincing politicians to change as well. Therefore, I encourage you to hold meetings in your communities, during which parents or another people who are at the heart of children will be able to learn about the real functioning of young people in the virtual planet and the dangers involved.
Experts from the Center of Life and household will tell about this. To invitation them to a meeting, e.g. at the school where your children attend, delight contact us at [email protected].
Secondly, I would besides like to encourage you again to support our Smartphone Free School campaign!
Already more than 15,000 people signed on our appeal – it can be done on the website of the SchoolBezSmartfonow.pl (...)
I assure you that we do not want to “turn back to the mediate Ages” and make children digital illiterate. But you will most likely agree with me – the smartphone is not essential for appropriate improvement (or even is simply a definite obstacle to this process), and the fact that children will only gain access to this technology erstwhile they are mature can prevent them from many dangers.
In this 1 case, it is truly worth that Poland should take an example from Western Europe – usually hoarded in our country. Let us show these affirmative models of work in education, in parenthood, but besides in politics, specified as the actions of the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Italy or another countries that have chosen wisely to defend children and young people from digital threats and give them a chance to have a safe, happy childhood.
I believe that this is besides possible in Poland.
