HONG KONG— Cathay Pacific (CX) is set to strengthen its North American network by increasing service between Hong Kong (HKG) and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW).
The frequency will be increased to daily flights, starting October 27, 2025. This expansion follows the airline’s successful launch of the route earlier this year, which began with four weekly flights on April 24. It now marks a significant ramp-up in capacity ahead of the busy winter travel season.
The move comes in response to the rising demand on this trans-Pacific route.
The expansion underscores Cathay Pacific’s long-term commitment to serving the Texan market—one of the largest economic and aviation hubs in the U.S. Dallas is Cathay’s eighth passenger destination in North America and a key part of its strategy to rebuild and expand its global network following the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cathay Pacific Goes Daily to Dallas
Cathay Pacific will operate the daily service using its fleet of Airbus A350s, primarily the A350-1000 and with the A350-900 on select days. Both aircraft are known for fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and modern cabin design. These aircraft features provide passengers with a quiet, comfortable long-haul flying experience.
The airline is changing the timings of the flights for the Winter schedule.
- CX898: Departs Hong Kong at 16:05 and arrives in Dallas at 17:55 (same day)
- CX897: Departs Dallas at 23:55 and arrives in Hong Kong at 05:05, two days later
(Arrival times may vary slightly during winter.)
The daily flights now will provide strong connectivity at both ends, linking Hong Kong’s key Asian destinations with Cathay’s global network. On the U.S. side, the airline will be offering seamless connections across North America via American Airlines’ hub at DFW.

Dallas Capacity Increase
Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport is a major U.S. gateway, home to American Airlines (AA) and more than 190 domestic connections.
Cathay’s membership in the oneworld alliance means travelers flying into DFW can easily connect to cities like Orlando, Nashville, Austin, Cancun, and more, with a single ticket and through-checked baggage.
From Hong Kong, passengers gain access to popular countries across Asia, such as Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, and India. This makes this route ideal for both business travelers and tourists heading in either direction.
The daily service will also expand monthly seat capacity on the route, growing from around 4,000 seats monthly to over 9,000 through the winter months.
The increased frequency comes just in time for the peak holiday and business travel period across both Asia and North America.

Cathay’s U.S. Network Recovering Fast
The Dallas expansion shows that Cathay Pacific is quickly rebuilding its U.S. presence. The airline now operates direct flights to Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York JFK, San Francisco, Toronto, Vancouver, and Dallas.
By the end of May 2025, Cathay aims to operate 108 weekly return flights to North America, up from 88 the previous year.
Cargo operations are also booming. The airline runs nearly 40 weekly freighter flights to North America. Cathay Pacific is one of the region’s top trans-Pacific cargo carriers as well. With a combined fleet of 48 Airbus A350s and 20 dedicated freighters, the airline is well-equipped to support both passenger and cargo growth.
The airline had to face the severe travel restrictions imposed by Hong Kong’s COVID-19 policies. However, Cathay Pacific has made a steady comeback. In late 2024, the airline crossed a major milestone by returning to 100% of its pre-pandemic flight capacity. The airline also marked a new milestone by carrying over 100,000 passengers Network-wide in a single day.

Bottom Line
The increase in Dallas flights to daily, marks a major step forward for Cathay Pacific. With strong alliance partnerships, the airline is well-positioned to serve the growing traffic between Asia and the Southern U.S.
The airline is looking beyond Dallas as demand is expected to continue to rebound and international travel recovers.
Rumors suggest Seattle, Houston, and Honolulu are all on the radar as potential future additions to Cathay’s U.S. network.
