The United Kingdom plans to upgrade 148 of about 371 inactive owned FV4034 Challenger 2 tanks, to Challenger 3 standard, presently 219 Challenger 2 tanks stay in service. Challenger 3 has a modernized hull with a fresh front composite armor, as well as a modernized suspension, drive unit and another components, specified as a set of fresh cameras for the driver, improving his situational awareness.
