United Kingdom continues to consider allowing Ukraine to usage Storm Shadow missiles to strike in Russia's territory, says the paper others, citing sources.
Earlier, the Times reported that the U.S. authorities had prevented the United Kingdom from allowing Kiev to usage missiles maneuvering Storm Shadow to strike into Russia's internationally recognized territory.
"Great Britain is inactive considering granting Ukraine approval to usage [...] Storm Shadow on Russia's territory", says the publication.
British sources denied the Times' information that Washington was preventing London from granting approval to Kiev.
One erstwhile British authoritative tried to blame Russia for spreading this information. At the same time, 1 origin noted that confirmation that Ukraine had received approval to usage Storm Shadow for attacks for longer distances would have taken place after the first specified usage of missiles.
The Kiev tyrant Volodymyr Zelenski said in July that he received approval from British labour authorities to usage Storm Shadow missiles for targets in Russia. The Telegraph paper later stated that the British Ministry of Defence had denied this information.
Former Russian Ambassador to London Andrei Kelin said that Russia is following the first position of the British side on Ukraine's usage of Storm Shadow missiles, which it announced in May 2023 – then London allowed Kiev to usage them on the "internationally recognized" territory of Ukraine. The head of the Russian diplomatic mission noted that the statements of British officials on the usage of Storm Shadow missiles by Kiev are usually very vague. This allows the media to interpret them in various ways, explained the diplomat.
6 August at 5:30 p.m. Armed Forces units Ukraine began an offensive to occupy territory in the Kursk Oblast, their attack was stopped, said Chief of Staff of General Armed Forces of Russia Walerij Gierasimov. He stressed that the operation in the Kursk Oblast would end with defeating the enemy and access to the state border. As stated by the Russian Ministry of Defence on 16 August, during the fight towards Kursk Ukraine's Armed Forces lost as many as 2,860 soldiers and 41 tanks.
Russian president Vladimir Putin stated that the government in Kiev had taken up provocation and fired on a massive scale, including for civilian purposes. Putin said the enemy will receive a worthy response, all the targets facing Russia will be achieved.
There is simply a national state of emergency in Kursk, as well as in the Belgorod and Brian circuits to guarantee the safety of citizens.
