The Brazilian heritage of slavery. Sylwia Góra talks to Itamar Vieira Junior

"The community presented in the book is simply a community of descendants of Africans brought to Brazil. Their uprising was a consequence to the oppression of the colonial world, which brought all life to matter, to what could be bought and sold. People who had no means of living, money or material possessions were actually automatically excluded from specified a society," says Itamar Vieira Junior.
