The carriers' protest is now a transport deadlock, which is exacerbated overnight by the inaction of erstwhile decision-makers. On Monday, the Minister of Infrastructure, Dariusz Klimczak, declared that the solution to this issue is becoming increasingly difficult.
During the interview given to Polsat News, the minister recalled that a gathering between the European Commission and Ukraine was held on the same day and Poland participated as an observer with voting rights.
"This is the first time we can even start discussing a transport liberalisation agreement. We know that this agreement is simply a bone of discord resulting in carriers protesting at the border" said the Minister.
Klimczak noted that in a fewer days he has a planned gathering with the Ukrainian counterpart, and is engaged in regular talks with carriers participating in the protest.
"We are looking for a common denominator that can at least lead to a suspension of the protest" – explained the Minister.
The carriers again began protesting the border crossing with Ukraine in Dorohusk ( Lublin Voivodeship). On Monday, a queue of trucks waiting to cross the border reached 46 km, reaching the village of Chojno Nowe First, where about 1.8 1000 vehicles stopped.
Edyta Ozigała, president of the Dorohusk protest, announced that the carriers are planning to pass 3 vehicles all full hour: 1 with commercial cargo, the another containing perishable food products, animals or fresh flowers, and the 3rd is simply a tanker or transport with dangerous materials. Humanitarian aid will besides be broadcast erstwhile an hr but in half hours.
The protest of the carriers before the border crossing in Dorohusk ran from 6 November and was completed on the erstwhile Monday for the decision of the municipality mayor Wojciech Sawa. However, the carriers submitted another request for assembly, planning it from 18 December to 8 March despite the ban on the mayor. The Lublin territory Court repealed this decision.
Entrepreneurs proceed protests outside the borders in Hrebenn ( Lublin Voivodeship) and Korczowa (Podkarpackie), where they pass respective vehicles per hour. The line to the crossing in Hrebenn was 26 km on Monday morning, involving 500 trucks, and the waiting time for crossing the border was 125 hours.
Polish carriers make a number of demands, including the introduction of commercial permits for Ukrainian transport companies, excluding the transport of humanitarian aid and supplies to the Ukrainian army. They besides require suspension of licences for companies formed after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine and carrying out their control. Another request concerns the elimination of the alleged electronic queue on the Ukrainian side.
W Since 23 November, farmers from the organization "The Defrauded Village" have been protesting, demanding, among others, corn subsidies and announcing the continuation of the protest to accomplish results.
