Grzegorz Braun, a candidate for president of the Republic of Poland, accused the authorities of systematic discrimination against his run during a press conference in the Sejm. The politician spoke about threats, attacks and the deficiency of access to public media, stressing that he is the subject of a wide-ranging attack.
“No gold subsidies, no minutes in the media”
Braun pointed out the deficiency of public media presence despite the statutory right to equal access.
– Attention, we're anaerobic. Zero gold subsidies, zero minutes, zero seconds in the Warsaw media, and besides Toruń media, not only central, but besides regional, television, public radio – in this run they did not give me a second, but for the time that was legally allocated to alleged election announcements. – he said.
He compared his situation with another candidates who, as he stated, "sleep in the media".
"Failure and out of law"
The politician of the Confederation of the Polish Crown described the increasing atmosphere of hostility towards him and his supporters.
– The atmosphere not only of the chase, but of the de facto outlaw. I am condemned by organizations, individuals, personalities and creatures active in our public life. I am condemned by over 120 judaic organizations in this country, Ukrainian organizations and Speakers of the Sejm, legislature and Ministers He stressed.
Referring to the statements of high-ranking politicians, Braun stated that they were a form of encouragement to violence.
– If I'm portrayed as a wanted, unfailingly convicted, shot media, alive or dead, and if that's what the Speakers of the Sejm, the legislature say, if that's what the ministers of this government say, then let's not be amazed that any of them are prying these calls. – he said.
Attacks on Braun’s supporters
The politician recalled the force against those associated with his campaign, including a knife attack on Jerzy Wróbel of Mragowo.
– I realize that as a warning. – commented Braun.
Concerns about election
The candidate besides expressed concern about the anticipation of removing him from the electoral list at the last minute.
– It was very interesting, and from our point of view highly disturbing, information about the anticipation of removing candidates from the list, possibly at the last minute, possibly individual negatively opinioned by the media or judaic organizations – he said.
He called on public institutions to guarantee the fairness of the elections.
– The State Election Commission, the interior safety Agency, the Ombudsman and the National Broadcasting and Broadcasting Council have 8 to fall silently in order to fulfil their duties – he noted.
“This is not just about me”
Braun stressed that his situation was a problem with wider violations of voting rights.
– It's not about my individual rights, it's not about my violation of my individual property, it's about the public good, the legal interest, the public interest. Those who compose specified calls break the laws of all their countrymen – he said.
He announced that on 18 May it would be revealed whether the voice of citizens would have more strength than the force of political and media circles.
