Blockage of all border crossings with Ukraine

The Independent Local Trade Union of Individual Farmers "Solidarity", at the gathering of the Bureau of the Union on 31 January 2024, unanimously adopted a resolution announcing the general strike of farmers throughout the country.

The strike will start with a blockade of all Polish border crossings with Ukraine along with road and road blockades in individual voivodships on 9 February 2024 at 10 a.m.

Our patience is exhausted. The position of Brussels on the last day of January 2024 is unacceptable to our full farming community. In addition, the passiveness of the Polish authorities and declarations of cooperation with the European Commission and the announcements of respect for all decisions of the European Commission on the import of agricultural produce and foodstuffs from Ukraine leave us no choice but to announce a general strike.

There is no agreement on the implementation of the "European Green Deal", the EU strategy "from field to table" and the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union as proposed. The Polish government must have a clear plan for agricultural production, cost-effectiveness of production, reconstruction of Polish processing and Polish trade. That's what we're gonna fight for. Polish household farms are the basis of food safety of the country. Healthy Polish food produced by Polish farmer is the basis for nutrition and wellness of Polish citizens. The Bureau of NSZZ RI "Solidarity" calls for SOLIDARITY of the full agricultural community.

We call on our members to act together and express our opposition to the current situation. The RI Solidarity calls for unity and constructive action for the benefit of the full agricultural community. In connection with announced agricultural protests, NSZZ RI "Solidarity" informs about temporary roadblocks across the country 9 February to 10 March 2024.

We ask our countrymen to be knowing and aware of the situation in which we all are. We fight for our common good, which is to prevent the collapse and bankruptcy of Polish household farms, frequently multigenerational farms.

As part of the possibilities, delight avoid travel in each of these areas. NSZZ RI "Solidarity" calls for a peaceful form of expression of discontent and cooperation with union strike coordinators.
