A photograph from the briefing of field commanders close Pokrovsk, with the participation of the Commander-in-Chief, General Oleksandr Syrsky, circulated in the Infosphere. The officers look at Syrski – diplomatically speaking – without much enthusiasm. In the background stands a tired General Kyrylo Budanov, commander of the HUR military intelligence, who took with him 11 commandos and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. Readers of my articles are aware that I am not an enthusiast of the command kind that General Syrsky has, but it should be said that he went to Pokrovsk. Although this is the consequence of the media force imposed on him by Ukrainian journalists, the consequence is that Ukrainian soldiers have a chance to last the retreat from the forward positions close Pokrovsk – which was not so apparent on Friday.
